Basic, applied, clinical, and behavioral research grant support
is a priority for the American College of
Sports Medicine Foundation. Grant applications for 2008-2009
are due to the ACSM National Center by

Golding Student Scholarship
Larry
A. Golding Student Scholarship: Two winners each receive $1,000 and
complimentary registration to ACSM's Health & Fitness Summit
& Exposition in Atlanta, GA, March 25-28, 2009.
International Awards
The
awards encourage educational development and professional collaboration
around the world. International Student Award recipients receive $1,000
USD to assist in covering costs associated with attending ACSM's Annual
Meeting. The International Clinical Scholar Award and the Oded Bar-Or
International Scholar Award provide subsidized airfare and lodging, a
living stipend, and medical insurance to a scholar or a clinician to
visit an institution in another country. Applications may be accessed
online beginning each fall and are due February 1 of the year the award

ACSM Offers
Fellowship
Fellowship in the American College of Sports Medicine is an
elite member status, to encourage high standards of professional
responsibility. Applications to be considered for ACSM Fellowship are
received twice a year: February 1 and August 1.

ACSM
Research Awards
Each
year ACSM awards individuals who have excelled in health-related
research. Deadline March 2, 2009.
- The New Investigator Award recognizes new investigators who have begun and are
likely to continue to make a significant contribution to knowledge in
basic or clinical exercise science or sports
medicine.
- The Charles M. Tipton National Student Research
Award is presented to a student with the most
outstanding research project of the year.
- The Visiting Scholar Award is given
to investigators who need further experience as independent researchers.
The purpose of the award is to provide financial support for an
investigator to visit the clinic or laboratory of his/her choice to
learn new and current techniques in exercise and sports
medicine.
