Earn ACSM CECs by earning another ACSM certificationThe ACSM Committee on Certification and Registry Boards, the governing committee for ACSM certification, has approved the awarding of ACSM CECs to currently certified professionals for earning new ACSM certifications. ACSM CECs can be applied if you earned the new ACSM certification during your renewal period. For example, if your renewal period is from 1/1/2007 to 12/31/2009 and you earned an ACSM specialty certification, you can apply those credits to your total due for renewal.
CECs can be earned regardless of what certification you have at the time of your renewal period. For example, if you are a Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist and earn the ACSM Certified Personal Trainer certification, you can apply the credits. Current eligibility requirements do apply, so make sure you are eligible for the exam before participating. ACSM will not be tracking the awarded CECs in your CEC history record on your ACSM account, however, you can search under your exam history if you login to your "My ACSM" account on-line. Note: Certifications earned from other certifying organizations cannot be used for ACSM certification renewal. Questions? E-mail certification@acsm.org |
