The U.S. government recently released the first-ever federal physical activity guidelines. Read more about ACSM's support here. To learn more about the federal guidelines from the Department of Health and Human Services, click here. ACSM is also heavily involved with the soon-to-be-released National Physical Activity Plan.

ACSM recommends meeting the federal guidelines through 30 minutes of exercise, five days per week, consistent with 2007 guidelines produced by ACSM and the American Heart Association. Read more about these guidelines and how to meet them here.
