ACSM ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH
NATIONAL INTRAMURAL-RECREATIONAL SPORTS ASSOCIATION
INDIANAPOLIS – The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)
and the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) have
announced a partnership that will make ACSM certification programs more
accessible to NIRSA members.
NIRSA and ACSM will work together to provide continuing education
programs, health and fitness certifications, and professional
development to NIRSA members. As a result, key leaders in collegiate
recreation and fitness programs will have access to quality National
Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA)-accredited health and fitness
certifications.
“We’re very excited to have a partnership with NIRSA, who
leads the industry in collegiate recreation,” said Dino Costanzo,
M.A., Chair of ACSM’s certification committee. “ACSM has
been offering health and fitness certifications for more than 30 years,
and this partnership will allow key practitioners in a collegiate
setting more accessibility to ACSM’s quality certifications and
programs.”
The NIRSA partnership further’s ACSM’s goal of bridging
the gap between science and practice, specifically in the area of
college recreation.
“NIRSA is proud to be aligned with such a credible
certification agency,” said Kent J. Blumenthal, executive director
