ACSM
Foundation
Since 1954, the American
College of Sports Medicine has been the leading organization
in sports medicine and exercise science. In 1984, the ACSM
Foundation was organized to help support the work of the college. Since
that time, the ACSM Foundation has grown into a successful entity of its
own.
The Foundation is the
fundraising arm of the college. It is actively seeking gifts from the
membership, as well as corporate sponsorship dollars. As members of this
prestigious organization, you can demonstrate your leadership and
commitment to the College by providing personal and financial support to
the Annual Fund. ACSM relies on the contributions from all of our
members to further its mission.
In addition to its fundraising
activities, the Foundation maintains several endowments. Most of these
endowments make cash awards each year in various areas of sports
medicine and exercise science. Each year these endowments grow, fueled
by the generosity and commitment of leaders like you in the study of
sports medicine and exercise science. In total, nearly $100,000 in
awards are made to ACSM members each year to support research. Many of
these award recipients are young investigators making initial
contributions to furthering science.
In its brief 20-year history,
the ACSM Foundation has helped ensure that ACSM continue its legacy as a
world leader in sports medicine and exercise science. By providing
crucial funds to the College and awarding funds to promising
researchers, ACSM and the Foundation are working together to fulfill the
College's mission. Your gift to the Foundation will help strengthen
programs today and have a lasting impact in the future.
