About The Courses
ACSM created the courses to meet the needs of clinical
practitioners who care for and manage athletic teams as part of their
total practice. With the completion of the two parts of the TPC courses,
a clinician will have been presented the information needed to perform
the duties of a team physician, including:

Organization of medical care for athletes
-
Delivery of medical care for athletes
-
Pre participation evaluation
-
Treatment of illnesses and injuries with return to activity
recommendations
-
Identification and proper management of nutritional,
psychological and drug programs
-
Assisting in the development of conditioning and training
programs
-
Providing coverage for games and other athletic events
including mass participation events
-
Developing injury prevention strategies
The courses do not need to be taken in sequential
order.
