The
10th Measurement and Evaluation Symposium:
Measurement
Issues and Challenges in Aging Research
The symposium, held October 16-18, was attended by more than 150 registrants,
faculty, guests, and sponsors. In addition, 65 abstracts were accepted
and were displayed during two poster presentation sessions. Chaired by
Weimo Zhu, Ph.D., FACSM, the program featured world-renown experts in
the field of measurement. The symposium began with a special pre-conference,
"SEM: Progress and Future Direction," with Roderick McDonald
and "Improving the Analysis of Longitudinal Data", with John
Willet. There were numerous conference highlights, including a special
session "Measurement Challenges in Alternative Medicine: Qi and Aging",
offered by Ping-Zhang Chen, Shan S. Wong, with Weimo Zhu. The symposium
closed with a banquet and closing presentation given by Stephen Silverman
who addressed "The Changing Face of the Measurement Specialist in
Kinesiology."
