To find out how many CECs you have, go to www.acsm.org and log into your account
by clicking on ‘My ACSM’ at the top of the page.
Follow the instructions listed for user name and password. Once
you are logged in, scroll down to the ‘My History’ section
and click on CEC/CME. This will show your current record of ACSM
endorsed programs in which you received credits.
Note: If there are other non-ACSM courses you have attended or
taken that you would like to apply for your re-certification of an ACSM
Certification, please refer to the certification page on our website
which explains the procedures: Click

*How do I get my ACSM Health
and Fitness Summit or Annual Meeting certificate documenting my credits
from attending either of these meetings?

Summit, you need to go to our website (www.acsm.org) and log in to your account
by clicking on 'My ACSM' at the top of the page.
-Once you are in, click on ACSM Credit Verification under the 'My
History' section. At the bottom, the activities you have attended
will be listed.
-Click on the meeting you wish to view.
-The certificate can be viewed by clicking on the PDF form. A drop

CMEs. Once you have made your choice, click view.
-Your certificate will pop up and you can print it for your records.
There is also the option of emailing it to yourself or a third party for
verification purposes.
*Do my college
courses/teaching count towards ACSM’s recertification process?
This is the certification department’s policy:
ACSM will recognize college credits as long as the course meets these
requirements:
1) you receive a C or better in the course.
2) you receive college credit for the course - no audit classes
3) the course is directly related to your certification
If your courses meet these requirements, then ACSM will award 10 ACSM
CECs per college credit hour. So a 3 college credit hour course equals
30 ACSM CECS.
Please keep a copy of your transcripts to use when you are due to renew.
You may be required to send them in to document where you earned your
credits. If you have more detailed questions on acceptable courses
or other re-certification questions, contact: bethm@acsm.org in the ACSM
Certification dept.
*I went to a program that was
not endorsed by ACSM. Will I receive ACSM CECs?
The ACSM Certification & Registry Department will
recognize CECs, CMEs, or CEUs awarded by other professional health &
fitness or clinical organizations for attending their programs without
it being pre-approved or endorsed by the ACSM Education Department.
These are considered ‘non-ACSM endorsed programs.’
You must obtain documentation from that organization
verifying attendance and the number of CECs earned. ACSM does not accept
CECs for certification exams, professional memberships, or committee
involvement.
Please keep all documentation of non-ACSM CECs for your records. Only
send in the ACSM Recertification/Renewal Form (Click
Here) and recertification payment when it is time
for you to recertify. ACSM may process an audit for you the following
year. Only approximately 25% of our certified individuals are
audited. IF you are audited, we will request all documentation of
any continuing education activity at that time.
*I attended an ACSM certification
workshop or national meeting (Summit, Annual, TPC, etc.) in 2006 that is
not on my CEC transcript. How do I get credit for this now?
Please contact the education department and request procedures
for obtaining credit.
Attendance verification forms are only valid one year post meeting, and
verification will not be provided past this period.
