2.  What is ACSM’s greatest strength and how would you make that aspect of the organization even stronger?

The greatest strength of the ACSM is its people.  Individuals who bring a sense of compassion and volunteerism, combined with professional expertise, contribute to the ongoing success of the ACSM. I believe that my past professional experiences have prepared me for a leadership position within the college.  My accomplishments and my service to the organization were recognized in 2009 with Fellow status. Furthermore, my current role as the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Recreation, and Intramural Sports at a small division III University allows me to bring a perspective to the ACSM that few others can duplicate.  “Sports” is one of the four words in our organization’s name.  Yet, very few of our members bring a true “athletics department administrative viewpoint” that can better serve to navigate the multitude of issues facing the care and wellness of our athletes. Sitting at the board table with a background in both sports medicine and athletics administration would complement the make-up of the Board of Trustees and offer greater vision for the ACSM.

3.  ACSM works closely with many other organizations, including associations, companies, philanthropies, and governmental agencies. Indicate those organizations/companies/agencies for which you play an advisory, consulting, or leadership role.

In addition to the ACSM, I have contributed my services to the following organizations/companies/agencies: National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), United State Olympic Committee (USOC), Major League Soccer (MLS), Sport Safety International (SSI), United States Quad Rugby Association (USQRA), Easter Seal Society, National Center for Sport Safety (NCSS), SLACK Incorporated Publishing.
