Active amusements would at least add to the force & flexibility of muscles, cause debility & torpor to be succeeded by a vivid circulation & a healthy action of the organs of life, giving gaiety & animation, activity & cheerfulness.  It would straighten out gnarled bodies & animate the palsied organs of humanity, giving uprightness, strength, vivid life to our whole being.
