	Primary effects: removal of lymph, exudations, transudations, & extravasations, destruction of exudations by pressure, removal of vegetations by frictions, & the solution & removal of adhesion. Secondary effects: increase of circulation by stimulating muscular & nervous systems, setting up molecular changes & producing consequent changes in sensation & by effecting alterations in the processes of general nutrition Schreiber, 41.
