ACSM's Leadership & Diversity Training Program Applications due December 2

giving-tuesday-infographic-v2Are you looking for travel funding to attend the ACSM Annual Meeting in San Francisco? Do you want to be matched with a mentor working in your area of study or work? Or, do you know any graduate-level students who want to increase their ACSM service and enhance their pathway to degree completion? Interested graduate-level students or higher who are under-represented minority members may be eligible for ACSM’s mentor/protégé program.

ACSM is now accepting applications for the Leadership & Diversity Training Program, which was created to promote career success through mentoring and professional growth. Accepted participants enhance their ACSM involvement by attending regional and national meetings and by service activities. To date, nearly 345 mentors and protégés have benefited from the program that has a proven record of developing the next generation of leaders in sports medicine and exercise science.

The Greater New York Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine has set goals to

1)  Promote and advance professions related to the science of exercise as medicine;

2)  Build relationships that foster growth and collaboration with other organizations, physicians, scientists, and educators concerned with the science of exercise and related fields;

3)  Arrange mutual meetings of physicians, educators, clinicians and scientists;

4)  Make available post-graduate education in fields related to these sciences;

5)  Initiate, promote and correlate research in these fields;
