SOLICITATION OF LETTERS OF INTEREST FOR NORTHLAND CHAPTER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


The Northland Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (NACSM) is soliciting Letters of Interest for the position of Executive Director of the NACSM. Letters of Interest are non-binding and will help guide the Executive Committee of the NACSM in creating a pool of qualified applicants. 


The successful applicant will assume the role of NACSM Executive Director on January 1, 2022. The initial term of the Executive Director is for 3 years; succeeding terms are for 2 years each. The NACSM Executive Committee approves the initial appointment and reappointment of the Executive Director. 


BRIEF SUMMARY OF DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

  • The Executive Director shall be responsible to the Executive Committee.

  • The Executive Director shall maintain an administrative office through which the routine business of the Chapter shall be conducted.

  • The Executive Director shall have charge of all papers, archives, records, and property of the Chapter.

  • The Executive Director shall collect and receive all fees, dues and assessments, and all other monies belonging to the Chapter.

  • The Executive Director shall arrange for an audit of the books by a representative of the Executive Committee at the close of each fiscal year

  • The Executive Director shall present to the Chapter at the annual meeting or at other times as requested by the Chapter or the Executive Committee, a statement summarizing the receipts and disbursements of the Chapter.


COMPENSATION

The chapter provides the Executive Director with $3000 in benefits related to involvement in both chapter and national meetings. The chapter will provide the following benefits:

  • Payment of National ACSM Membership Dues

  • Payment of Regional ACSM Chapter Dues

  • Payment for travel, lodging, and meals to the ACSM Annual Meeting and all Northland Chapter Meetings

  • The Executive Director may choose to receive the balance of $3000 as payment (up to $599 without tax implications).

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Monday, November 16, 2020. Review of letters and subsequent discussions will commence immediately thereafter and will continue until such time that the position is filled.
