Developing the Healthy Youth Athlete: The Public Health Challenge and Opportunity

Register Today! This conference aims to harness the power of youth sports as one solution to society's physical inactivity epidemic. By creating early positive experiences for children we are improving the lives of children and strengthening families and communities.

Sessions focus on a wide-range of topics that include:

  • The role of sports and physical activity as a solution to several public health and societal concerns such as obesity, mental and emotional health, improved academic performance, and reduced engagement in risky and violent behaviors,
  • Health and safety of children playing sports, including injury prevention and concussions
  • Discussions about how national youth sports organizations could work together to drive early, positive youth experiences that encourage and enable kids to stay involved; avoid injury; and focus on the benefits being active.
  • The impact of technology on athlete performance in many different areas: nutrition, training, and equipment; exploring evidence-based science that will help kids  be the best they can be.

Attendees have the opportunity to earn more than 10 CECs.
