International Awards

ACSM international awards provide funding for professionals and students to participate in clinical and research exchange opportunities. Upcoming awards are listed below, and the deadline for all award submissions is Feb. 1.

International Student Award

  • Deadline: Feb 01, 2013
  • Amount: $1,000 USD
  • Number Given: 3 (max.)

The International Student Award honors students from countries outside of North America and helps fund travel expenses for those traveling to the ACSM Annual Meeting to present their scholarly work. 

Award requirements include:

  1. Applicants must be a student at the time of the 2013 ACSM Annual Meeting and must not hold a completed doctoral degree of any type (Ph.D., Ed.D., M.D., DPH, etc.) at the time of application. Previous International Student Award winners are not elligible to apply.
  2. Applicants must be ACSM members in good standing.
  3. Applicants must have been accepted to present research at the 2013 ACSM Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Applicants should be the first author of the accepted abstract and should plan to personally present the research.
  4. Applicants may not be residents of the United States or Canada.

Download the 2013 International Student Award application.  Completed applications are due February 1, 2013.   

Awards will be determined by the quality of research to be presented at the ACSM Annual Meeting. Award recipients will receive $1,000 USD to assist with travel costs for attending ACSM's 2013 Annual Meeting and World Congress on Exercise is Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
