Student Awards

ACSM invests in the future of sports medicine and exercise science by giving to our student members. Student members are eligible for grants and awards to offset the rising costs of tuition and travel. Upcoming student award opportunities are listed below. 

The Coca-Cola Company Doctoral Student Grant on Behavior Research

  • Deadline: Jan 17, 2014
  • Amount: $5,000.00 USD
  • Number Given: 1

For research addressing behavioral strategies and techniques to promote the adoption and maintenance of physical activity/exercise. Studies that focus on innovative strategies to improve individual-level adoption and/or maintenance of physical activity will be given first priority.   The proposed study can focus on youth, adolescents, adults, or older adults 55 and over.  One award of $5,000 is available.

The 2013 ACSM Foundation Research Grant Program application is below. There are two parts to the application. Both Part A and Part B must be submitted as one complete PDF application. Applicants for student research grants must have graduate student status during the term of the grant to be considered for funding. Applicants must be current members of ACSM at the time of submitting an application to be funded. Grants are open to all ACSM members, including international members. However, the NASA initiative is open to U.S. residents only.

The deadline for the 2013 grant application was 5:00 PM ET on January 18, 2013.
