Student Awards

ACSM invests in the future of sports medicine and exercise science by giving to our student members. Student members are eligible for grants and awards to offset the rising costs of tuition and travel. Upcoming student award opportunities are listed below. 

Michael L. Pollock Student Scholarship

The Michael L. Pollock Memorial Fund was established to help pay travel expenses for graduate students traveling to ACSM's Annual Meeting to present their scholarly work. 

Award requirements include:

  1. Applicants must have been a graduate student in good standing within one year of submitting an application. 
  2. Applicants must have a research focus on health-and-fitness or clinical exercise physiology.
  3. Applicants must be the first author on an accepted research project (free communication or poster) being presented at ACSM's Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, MN.

Winners receive a $200 award to pay for travel expenses to attend and present research at the ACSM Annual Meeting,World Congress on Exercise is Medicine and World Congress on The Basic Science of Muscle Hypertrophy and Atrophy.
