Aaron Heishman to Represent Central States in the President's Cup

Apr 24, 2019
Aaron Heishman will represent the Central States Chapter in the President's Cup at the ACSM National Meeting in Orlando this May. Aaron replaces Emily Witte who had to withdraw form the competition.

Aaron is a 3rd year doctoral candidate in the Neuromuscular Laboratory at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Michael Bemben is his faculty mentor. He has also served as a sport science intern with the OU men's and women's basketball programs.

Aaron has an appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the President's Cup.

"The President’s Cup Competition has positively influenced my graduate experience by facilitating an environment to share my current research as a graduate student, while also improving my capacity to clearly and concisely articulate my research to a variety of audiences. Additionally, the President’s Cup Competition has also provided a platform for young researchers like me to receive constructive criticism from established researchers. This feedback increases our ability to develop as young professionals and specifically enables me to provide athletes with evidence guided strategies toward improving and optimizing performance."
