Sports Medicine Essentials is an interactive course designed specifically for the primary care practitioner who desires to expand and improve their clinical musculoskeletal knowledge and skills. Formerly the ACSM Team Physician Course, Sports Medicine Essentials will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of essential sports medicine topics through hands on practice of sports medicine skills. See the Preliminary Program.

Course Highlights:

  • Basic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Pre-Conference: Identify machines, probes and hands on techniques to get you started
  • Comprehensive Concussion Management: Understand the complexities of the new concussion guidelines to hands on practice of concussion exam skills
  • Breakout Exam Stations: Small group sessions with nationally recognized faculty to improve Lachman's test or standardize your shoulder exam
  • Sports Medicine Skills Stations: Work on improving the skills important to you from concussion skill practice to your ability to read musculoskeletal imaging studies
  • Case Based Approach: Case based sessions designed to provide clinical information to help take the knowledge from the courses back to clinical practice

1)  Promote and advance professions related to the science of exercise as medicine;
