Free Student Webinar: The Wired Driver - A Discussion of Biometric Sensing in Motorsport

May 02, 2019

Thursday, May 16, 2019

12:00 - 1:00 p.m. EDT

ACSM’s Brown Bag series provides ACSM students an opportunity to learn more about the diverse scientific work ACSM members conduct. Sign up for this informal discussion with an ACSM member to hear more about what they study, the general research methodology they use and some of the interesting results of their research.

This presentation will discuss the use of biometric sensors for the assessment of the physiological stressors experienced by the driver athlete during competition, and the use of new technologies within the motorsport racing community.

Presenter:
Dr. Edward Potkanowicz, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Human Performance and Sport Studies Ohio Northern University

Dr. Edward Potkanowicz's research examines the body’s thermoregulatory response to environmental stressors during sport performance.
