Call for Abstracts
The Northland Chapter is now accepting research abstracts for the 2019 Spring Tutorial and Student Research Showcase. The deadline for submitting your abstract is Friday, March 15 at Midnight CST
. Graduate and undergraduate students who have registered for the Spring meeting are eligible to submit research abstracts. Detailed instructions are in the links below. Please direct any questions to Student Activities Director, Brad Bowse
Frequently Asked Questions
"What are the awards and prize money for 2019?"
Funding for awards is provided by the Gatorade Sports Science Institute. Awards will be based on 1) the written abstract and 2) the presentation of the poster. Undergraduates will be competing for the following prize allotments: 1st Place: $300; 2nd Place: $200; 3rd Place: $100.
Graduate students will be competing for the opportunity to represent the Northland Chapter at the 4th Annual ACSM President's Cup at the ACSM Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL with the following prize allotments: 1st Place: $1200 travel allowance and registration waiver to the ACSM Annual Meeting, plus $100 cash; 2nd Place: $250; 3rd Place: $100.
"What if my research is not done by the March 15 deadline, but will be complete by April 5, can I still submit?"
Yes! Please submit your abstract using the "Proof of Concept" option as detailed in the instructions below. Please note that abstracts submitted as Proof as Concept are not eligible for prize money.
