Speaker: Mark Faries, PhD - Associate Professor & Extension Specialist, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service
Title: "Mind over Myth"
Topic Overview: In this talk Dr. Faries will discuss how to bust myths with scientific evidence while teaching some valuable skills in evidence-based practice.

Speaker: Mike Roberts, PhD - Associate Professor, School of Kinesiology, Auburn University
Title: "Resistance Training Adaptations to Different Loading Schemes"
Topic Overview: A plethora of recent research has determined that lower-load/higher volume training elicits similar adaptations to higher-load/lower volume adaptations. Dr. Roberts will discuss the latest research in this arena as well as some of his laboratory's research in this area. The talk will focus on what's currently known, and use evidence-based direction regarding long-term training implications from each type of training.
