Chinese Association of Sports Medicine (CASM)

Chinese Association of Sports Medicine (CASM) was established in 1978 and became one of the branches of China Sports Science Society (CSSS) in 1980. Now CASM is affiliated to China National Institute of Sports Medicine and represents China as the country member of International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and Asian Federation of Sports Medicine (AFSM). CASM regularly organizes different kinds of academic activities, such as National Sports Medicine Conference every two years, National Team Physician Training Course every year and other sports medicine related symposium focusing on certain specific topics every year. CASM has its official journal entitled Chinese Journal of Sports Medicine, which is the only core professional journal in Chinese for scientific citation in sports medicine. CASM also frequently join the activities/events organized by international sports science and sports medicine organizations, such as ACSM, NATA, FIMS, AFSM, IOC-MC since 1978.

ACSM-CASM Credentialed Chinese
Personal Fitness Trainer 

ACSM-CASM Credentialed Personal Fitness Trainer certificate is for fitness professionals who have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and intend to work with apparently healthy individuals and those with stable health challenges to enhance fitness in China. By the end of the course, credential holders will know how to conduct initial client consultations and assessments, develop and implement exercise programming, and learn about exercise leadership and client education, and Chinese professional and legal responsibilities. 

ACSM and CASM co-developed this in-person assessment-based certificate titled “ACSM-CASM Credentialed Personal Fitness Trainer.” A certificate is only awarded to those participants who meet the performance, proficiency, and passing standard for the written and performance assessments.

ACSM-CASM Credentialed Chinese
Exercise Physiologist

ACSM Chinese Certified Exercise Physiologist certificate is for fitness professionals with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science qualified to pursue a career in university, corporate, commercial, hospital, and community settings. ACSM-EPs not only conduct complete physical assessments – they also interpret the results in order to prescribe appropriate, personalized exercise programs.

ACSM-Credentialed Clinical
Exercise Physiologist

The ACSM-Credentialed Clinical Exercise Physiologist is designed for participants who possess a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, or related field and 600-1,200 hours of clinical, hands-on experience. The course will include the utilization of prescribed exercise, basic health behavior interventions and promote physical activity for individuals with chronic diseases or conditions; including, but are not limited to, individuals with cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic, orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, neoplastic, immunologic and hematologic diseases. In addition, the course will provide primary and secondary prevention strategies designed to improve, maintain or attenuate declines in fitness and health in populations ranging from children to older adults. 

ACSM-Credentialed Exercise
Prescription for Physicians

The ACSM-Credentialed Exercise Prescription for Physicians course is designed to appeal to medical professionals with a genuine interest to promote the implementation of safe and effective exercise programming based on the best practices and scientific evidence-based information. Participants must demonstrate proof a medical degree to participate in the course. The course will lead to an understanding of exercise prescription practices for those individuals who successfully complete this course.  The curriculum associated with this course will focus on five categories of professional domains that include: 1) patient assessment, 2) exercise testing, 3) exercise prescription, 4) exercise training and leadership, 5) legal and professional responsibilities.
