Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and proliferation of the delta and omicron variants, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is requiring all in-person conference participants to be fully vaccinated* or provide a negative COVID-19 test result.
Vaccination and negative-test credentialing will be managed by Health Pass by CLEAR both leading up to and during the ACSM's Integrative Physiology of Exercise Conference.
The ACSM's Integrative Physiology of Exercise Conference event code will be distributed 10 days prior to the event. If you would like to create an account on Health Pass by CLEAR ahead of time, you can download the CLEAR mobile app via the Apple Store or Google Play. Attendees must enter the provided code within 24hrs of their arrival on-site.
As a science-based organization, ACSM continues to follow the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local health departments. This guidance, along with our health and safety measures, will continue to evolve as the COVID-19 situation changes. Protecting the health and safety of all participants remains our top priority.
ACSM COVID-19 Policy (as of May 24, 2022)
ACSM requires all meeting attendees — including participants, speakers, exhibitors and guests (“Attendees”) — to either (1) submit evidence they are fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC at the time of the meeting, or (2) submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours prior to the meeting. Specific requirements, including but not limited to the type of documentation, type of test and the time period in which the test must be administered, may change closer to the meeting based on CDC guidelines at that time, as well as any applicable requirements of the local government and/or health authorities. Attendees will be able to upload their COVID-19 vaccination record card as part of the meeting registration process. The online verification process is simple, secure and HIPAA compliant.
COVID-19 Vaccination Protocol
COVID-19 Negative Test Protocol
Guests who are not fully vaccinated will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test to attend any in-person official event.
The test must be administered no earlier than September 18, 2022.
ACSM will not provide on-site testing. To locate a Health Pass by CLEAR-approved testing provider, please click here.
ACSM will follow masking guidelines provided by the facility, as well as local and state authorities, regardless of vaccination status. Mask policy will be updated as we approach the official meeting date.
What should you do if you feel unwell before or during the event?
Attendees who feel ill prior to traveling should get tested in accordance with CDC guidelines. If you feel ill while at the event, please do not attend any sessions, get tested and remain in your room as much as possible.
Per the CDC, if you experience COVID-19 symptoms, you should get tested, stay home and stay away from others, even if you are fully vaccinated.
