ACSM CCRB Call for Nominations

The ACSM Committee on Certification and Registry Boards (CCRB) is seeking ACSM-CEP certified exercise professionals who are willing to serve on the CCRB’s various subcommittees. The Board is seeking to fill two (2) available volunteer positions.

The CCRB develops high-quality, accessible and affordable credentials for health and exercise professionals who are responsible for preventive and rehabilitative programs that influence the health and well-being of all individuals.

For consideration, submit your application for one of the following positions by Oct. 6.

Available Positions

Practitioner – obesity/metabolic exercise specialist

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience 
  • Direct experience in administering and/or overseeing one or more of the following programs: orthopedic/musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, neoplastic, pulmonary, cancer, frailty, and/or fall prevention
  • Direct experience working with healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, nurses)

Practitioner – orthopedic/musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, neoplastic, pulmonary, cancer, or frailty exercise specialist

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience
  • Direct experience in administering and/or overseeing in one or more of the following programs: insert specific knowledge and skills
  • Direct experience working with healthcare providers (e.g., physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, nurses)

The Greater New York Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine has set goals to

1)  Promote and advance professions related to the science of exercise as medicine;

2)  Build relationships that foster growth and collaboration with other organizations, physicians, scientists, and educators concerned with the science of exercise and related fields;

3)  Arrange mutual meetings of physicians, educators, clinicians and scientists;

4)  Make available post-graduate education in fields related to these sciences;

5)  Initiate, promote and correlate research in these fields;
