Chapter Challenge Spring 2024: January 1 - April 30
ACSM encourages all regional chapter student members to take full advantage of the opportunities national membership affords them.
By joining the national organization for only $30, students gain access to ACSM journals, get a 20% discount on ACSM textbooks, become eligible for grants and travel awards, enjoy discounted CEC course costs and much more — a tremendous cost/benefit ratio.
So, we developed the Chapter Challenge to give them the boost they need. We’re incentivizing regional chapters and university departments to encourage their students to join ACSM as national members.
Three $500 Prizes Are Up For Grabs
The chapter with the greatest percent increase in new national student members
The chapter with the greatest numerical increase in new national student members
The individual university department with the most new national student members
The chapter with the greatest percent increase in new national student members — as well as the chapter with the greatest numerical increase in new national student members — between Jan. 1 and Apr. 30 each win $500.
Individual university departments can also compete for a separate prize — the department with the most new national student members gained in the same time period will likewise win $500 to put toward the student experience.
To qualify, students must be both active regional chapter and national members at the end of the time period.

Students must be chapter members.

The challenge is limited to the eight chapters holding spring meetings (Central States, Greater New York, New England, Northland, Northwest, Rocky Mountain, Southeast, Texas).
Students have two ways to join ACSM nationally as part of challenge:
1. Prospective regional chapter student members can add a national ACSM student membership when they register for their spring chapter meeting. Since the majority of chapter-only student members join their chapter during the meeting-registration process, this is the easiest way for them to also become national ACSM members.
2) If a student is already a chapter member, they (or their faculty member, who is often the one who handles their registration) will have to contact ACSM’s Customer Experience Team at meeting@acsm.org by April 30, 2024, and request to add a national ACSM membership.
