Call for papers reporting translational research related to women’s health, sport, and physical activity

Aug. 16, 2018

Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine and SHI Women, Sport, and Physical Activity partner to publish special issue

Though there are many unanswered questions related to gender differences as they apply to sports and exercise, research focused on the various gender specific aspects of women in sport, physical activity, and clinical application trails evidence-based research on men.

It is in light of this inequity that the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine (TJACSM) is seeking submissions for a special issue focused on women, sports and physical activity as relate to sport performance, clinical care or health.

The TJACSM welcomes submissions of original research related to translating novel data on women in physical activity and sport from researcher to clinical practice and/or application. This call is in conjunction with the ACSM Strategic Health Initiative on Women, Sport, and Physical Activity (SHI Women) in effort to address the gap in literature and begin to answer questions on the current health and fitness issues that women face.

Abstracts must be submitted by October 1, 2018. Abstracts should be submitted to TJACSM Guest Editor Linda May, MS, PhD, via email. If approved, abstract authors will be invited to submit a full manuscript for consideration under the normal peer review process.

Access the full call for papers.

All questions should be directed to Linda May, MS, PhD.
