FREE WEBINAR - Earn 2 Free CECs Healthy Equity in Active Transportation

Tuesday, April 23 | 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. EDT

Want to learn more about how disparities in the social and built environments impact physical activity, as well as how to increase active transportation in your community? Join members of ACSM's ActivEarth Task Force and the Strategic Health Initiative on Health Equity as they host this webinar. You will earn two free CECs courtesy of ACSM for attending.

Description:
Walking or bicycling to school, work or just to get around offers benefits to health, the environment and the economy. At some point in the day, everyone is a pedestrian, yet many factors influence vulnerable and marginalized populations engaging in active transportation. These populations remain at greater risk for pedestrian fatalities; however, solutions exist to make walking and bicycling safer and more accessible for everyone.

Presenters:
Melissa Bopp, Ph.D., FACSM | Pennsylvania State University
NiCole R. Keith, Ph.D., FACSM | Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis
Brian B. Parr, Ph.D., ACSM-CEP | University of South Carolina Aiken
Melissa Wehnert Roti, PhD, FACSM, ACSM-EP, GEI | Westfield State University

ActivEarth, a strategic initiative of ACSM, aims to improve public health, the environment and the economy through greater levels of physical activity and active transportation like walking, bicycling or wheelchair rolling.
