Lisa Heaton, M.S., R.D., CSSD, has worked in the sports nutrition realm for over a decade and is board certified in sports dietetics with interests in sports nutrition, recovery, hydration and performance. As a sports dietitian at GSSI, Lisa works with nutrition-related education and research translation and supports the athlete engagement program through management of all elite athlete testing conducted in Barrington, Illinois. She also served as the sports dietitian for the Chicago Bulls for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 seasons.
Kelly Barnes, M.S., leads the research program at GSSI’s Barrington headquarters. Currently, she works with local athletes to provide sweat and cardiovascular fitness information. Having spent many years working in the field for the Athlete Service Program, Kelly serves as a conduit to bring elite athlete hydration/nutrition questions back to the lab and transfer lab learnings to the field.
