ACSM’s Brown Bag Series in Science webinars give students and young professionals a chance to learn more about the diverse science our members conduct. These informal discussions with our ACSM members provide an opportunity to hear more about what they study, the general research methodology they use and some of the interesting results their research is generating.
In the September webinar you will learn about how consensus documents present evidence-based guidelines for exercising with type 1 diabetes (T1D) but emphasize the lack of data on self-management interventions to promote them successfully and safely among those who are sedentary. Garrett Ash, Ph.D., from Yale University will discuss his research that focuses on utilizing a customized mobile digital application, and coaches certified in exercise for diabetes, to deliver a remote intervention that includes personalized biosensor feedback about multiple health behaviors, their potential interaction, and responsive exercise guidance.
