The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is pleased to announce its support of HR 2471, the Fiscal 2022 Omnibus Appropriations Act, recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. The legislation, including a $2.25 billion increase in funding for the National Institutes of Health and an increase of $351 million for the National Science Foundation, will now move on to the Senate for its consideration.
ACSM believes these increases, which were previously expected to have passed in September 2021 as part of the regular appropriations process, will provide critical resources to the advancement of health and well-being through sound science.
