Call for Applications and Nominations: TJACSM Editor-in-Chief

Dec. 21, 2022

ACSM is now accepting applications and nominations for the role of editor-in-chief of the Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine (TJACSM)!

TJACSM was launched in 2016 to meet the need for a publication concentrated solely on the translation of science to action. The journal publishes original research, clinical trials, systematic reviews/meta-analyses, and policy research that discuss the translational implications of basic, clinical, and policy science to everyday real-world practice. Specifically, studies that apply basic and clinical research findings that move discovery and knowledge into clinical practice and community settings will be published. Periodically, special issues that focus on a single, current topic in translational sports medicine and exercise science may be developed. TJACSM is an official journal of the American College of Sports Medicine and is published continuously with quarterly compendia.

ACSM is now accepting applications and nominations for the role of editor-in-chief (EIC) for TJACSM, with plans to interview finalists in the spring of 2023. Ideally, applicants are ACSM members in good standing with expertise in the field of translational science. The applicants’ editorial experiences, organizational abilities, creativity, and capacity to serve in this role will be considered.

The incoming EIC will work with the current EIC, John B. Bartholomew, Ed.D., FACSM, for a period of six months, from July 2023 to December 2023, to train and transition journal duties. The incoming EIC will serve a four-year term from January 2024 to December 2027 with the possibility to serve a second four-year term.
