MWACSM Awards

MWACSM is proud to present the following awards and competitions that recognize professional achievement throughout the region. 


President's Cup Poster Competition

Submission Deadline: The top student awardee will receive the President's Cup.

The President's Cup is an annual research competition held during the national ACSM Annual Meeting. Organized by the Student Affairs Committee and ACSM national staff, each regional chapter will select the top student presentation to represent the chapter in the President's Cup competition at the national ACSM Annual Meeting. The regional winner will be selected by a panel of judges and will receive a stipend of $1200 to support attendance and travel to the national ACSM Annual Meeting to present their work. The stipend will be paid post-meeting after the winner has participated in the national-level competition. Learn more.



Outstanding Student Presentation Awards

Submission Deadline: You will be automatically entered into the contest upon abstract submission.

MWACSM has a number of awards to recognize the outstanding research conducted by our student members. 

  • Outstanding Student Poster Presentation (Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels)
  • Outstanding Student Oral Presentation (Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels)

    MWACSM will give four annual awards to acknowledge students involved in excellent scholarly works and projects.

      

        

        Professional Awards

        • Professional of the Year Award
          This award recognizes achievements of certified professionals working in the Midwest region. The award is presented annually at the MWACSM Annual Meeting.

        • Founder's Award
          This award recognizes members who have been active, contributing members of the chapter. Recipients will receive acknowledgement of their dedication and professional contributions at the MWACSM Annual Meeting.

        Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) Award-existing program

        Submission Deadline: September 1

        • ActiveU Award ACSM and EIM on Campus conduct an ActiveU competition which recognizes the most creative and sustainable collegiate programs that utilizes the EIM on Campus principles of making physical activity an integral part of personal health care. This is an opportunity to give recognition to outstanding EIM on Campus programs within the Midwest region and allow these programs to showcase their accomplishments to other schools looking to start or improve their own EIM on Campus initiatives.

        • New EIM Seed Program Award The New EIM Seed Grant, launched in 2016, is an award which provides financial support to campuses which do not have a current EIM program. Learn how to start an EIM on Campus program at your college or university.  Take advantage of an opportunity to receive support for your new EIM on campus launch.
