Given the heinous invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recognizes its responsibility to emphasize its support for the freedom of all people. In particular, ACSM emphasizes the freedom to discover and to report those discoveries, the freedom to practice medicine to the benefit of athletes and non-athletes alike, the freedom of all individuals to move, to be physically active and to be healthy. ACSM recognizes that optimal health in all its aspects is impossible without freedom. ACSM supports freedom for all.
