Science Spotlight | Application for EIM-OC Microgrants Open through Nov. 10

Oct. 24, 2023

Science SpotlightThe Exercise Is Medicine On Campus (EIM-OC) microgrant deadline has moved from spring to fall this year to better align with other ACSM Foundation grants. To help campuses develop, execute, and evaluate EIM-OC programs, financial support is available through the Barry & Linda Franklin Microgrant program to defray the costs of conducting EIM-OC interventions and performing high-quality data collection and analysis of EIM-OC programming.

Eligibility

Campuses must be a registered EIM-OC campus to qualify for one of three microgrants awarded annually to support EIM-OC programs.

  • Physical Activity Promotion Grant ($500): Awarded to the EIM-OC leadership team aiming to provide, promote, and/or evaluate physical activity or exercise opportunities for campus community members

  • Physical Activity Screening and Education Grant ($750): Awarded to the EIM-OC leadership team aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of physical activity screening and education initiatives

  • Physical Activity Assessment and Referral Grant ($1,250): Awarded to the EIM-OC leadership team aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of the campus health assessment and referral process and/or exercise prescription service

The EIM-OC committee encourages all EIM-OC leadership teams to apply for the microgrant most appropriate to support your EIM-OC program goals. Don’t miss this opportunity to get funding for your EIM-OC projects!

Access the ACSM Foundation Grants/Awards page to complete your application using the new applicant portal that features a modernized process in which applicants can collaborate with their advisors/leadership team members easier, along with additional features to facilitate a streamlined experience for applicants.
