Science Spotlight: ACSM Science Webinar Series Returns

Jan. 24, 2023
Science Spotlight ACSM Science Webinar Series ReturnsStarting in February, ACSM’s From Around the Field monthly webinar series (formerly Brown Bag) will resume, featuring domestic and international ACSM members who will present on their current research.

The series is designed to provide ACSM students and young professionals an opportunity to learn more about the diverse science our members conduct. Join us for informal discussions with our ACSM members to hear more about what they study, the general research methodology they use, and some of the interesting results their research is generating.

The webinar series is free for ACSM members. In addition, ACSM members can purchase continuing education credits (CECs) for viewing the webinar.

Our first presentation for 2023 will feature Elise Brown, Ph.D., an associate professor in wellness and health promotion at Oakland University, and Raza Qadir, M.D., a resident physician at the University of Chicago Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care. Drs. Brown and Qadir will discuss relationships between muscular strength and cardiometabolic risk, and the effectiveness of resistance training to improve cardiometabolic risk factors in people with Type 2 diabetes.

Join us on Feb. 27, from noon to 1 p.m. EST for this interesting discussion. If you can’t join us live, register and we will send you the recording.
