NASEM holds Strategic Council for Research Excellence, Integrity, and Trust
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) will host the sixth meeting of the Strategic Council for Research Excellence, Integrity, and Trust. The meeting is open to the public as the Strategic Council will host a panel discussion on retractions and the correction of the scientific record. This panel brings together experts from different domains of the research/publishing enterprise to discuss ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the retraction process. A livestream link will be available prior to the meeting on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. EST.
2023 NAM Catalyst Award Competition open
The National Academy of Medicine (NAM), with support from Johnson & Johnson Innovation, the Bia-Echo Foundation, and the Yun Family Foundation, will issue up to 20 Catalyst Awards in 2023 to U.S.-based innovators for bold, new and innovative ideas that aim to extend the human health span (i.e., the number of years lived in good health), especially approaches that challenge existing paradigms or propose new methodologies or concepts. Open to any field or combination of fields (e.g., biology, chemistry, medicine, engineering, behavioral and social sciences, technology, data science, and policy). 2023 Health Policy Research Scholars accepting applications
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation supports grant funding for full-time doctoral students from nonclinical, research-focused disciplines in which policy is a key lever for change. Applicants must be starting full-time, second-year doctoral studies in fall 2023 at a degree-granting institution based in the United States or its territories. The Health Policy Research Scholars (HPRS) program is open to students who are from populations underrepresented in specific doctoral disciplines and/or historically marginalized backgrounds whose racial, socioeconomic, ability status and personal factors allow them to bring unique and diverse perspectives to their research.
