The Latest Impact Factors for ACSM Journals

July 6, 2023

The American College of Sports Medicine® (ACSM) is pleased to share that five of the six journals have impact factors. The Journal Impact FactorTM (JIF), released by Clarivate Analytics, is one measure of journal success.

The Translational Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine (TJACSM) received its first-ever impact factor at 0.9. ACSM’s Health & Fitness Journal® is enjoying its highest ever score at 1.5. Two journals remain in the top 15 of 87 journals in the Sports Sciences category Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews (6th; 5.7 JIF) and Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise® (14th; 4.1 JIF). While Current Sports Medicine Reports saw a slight drop from its high score last year, this year’s impact factor (1.8) keeps it on an upward trend when looking at the past five years.

The continued success of ACSM’s journals is the result of the expertise and dedication of the editors-in-chief, associate and section editors, editorial boards, and reviewers. We are grateful for the time they commit to advancing the field and ACSM’s journals, and we deeply value the hard work and integrity of the scientists who choose to submit and publish their work in ACSM’s journals.

ACSM strives to promote, support, and disseminate transformative research through six leading scholarly journals. From cutting-edge research, translational science, and emerging ideas to practical information on health and fitness, to the latest in the field of medicine, ACSM provides an outlet to advance the science and practice of the field.
