ACSM Chief Business Development Officer Tim Calvert has announced his retirement from the organization, effective January 19, 2024.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I want to express my deep appreciation to Tim for his longtime dedication to ACSM,” said President Irene Davis, Ph.D., FACSM. “It goes without saying that he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to work with him.”
Tim began his career with ACSM 1990, joining the staff as deputy executive vice president, finance and business. After his first nine years, Tim left for opportunities in the for-profit world before returning to ACSM in November of 2007 as chief operations officer and transitioned to chief financial officer and eventually chief business development officer before his retirement.
During Tim’s long tenure with ACSM, he was responsible for many critical and high-profile functions. He had oversight responsibilities for the organization’s budget, building and grounds, legal affairs, contracts, business development and served as staff liaison to the Budget and Finance Committee. Of particular note, Tim served as interim CEO from 2019-2020 and then helped lead ACSM through the many financial challenges stemming from the COVID pandemic.
“Tim has been a devoted ACSM staff member for nearly three decades,” said ACSM Interim Chief Executive Office Katie Feltman. “He served our members well over the years by applying his skills and expertise to multiple roles and becoming an integral part of this organization.”
We are grateful to Tim for his dedication to ACSM’s mission and members. Please join us in thanking Tim for 27 years of faithful service and wishing him all the best in his retirement.
