Kristin Belleson is a senior association executive with more than two decades of proven success in leading organizational and membership growth. Kristin has extensive experience leading membership development, strategic initiative development and association management operations.  

Kristin has had the opportunity to serve various national and international membership organizations and has been recognized for her talents in strategy development and implementation of new organizational initiatives.

Kristin most recently served as the Interim, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice President of Affiliate Affairs and Membership Services for the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). Kristin was responsible for the management and oversight of the $18M annual membership budget and as well development of non-dues revenue programs.  

Prior to her role at the AOA, from 2014-2017, Kristin served as the Chief Membership Officer with the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC). During her time at SGO, Kristin oversaw the membership development and strategy for more than 2,300 members worldwide. Prior to SGO, Kristin served in two different roles with the the American Dental Association (ADA) from 2007-2014 and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) prior to the ADA.

Kristin’s passion for association management and vision centric organizations began in 1997 when she started her career with the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.

With an educational focus in communications and business, Kristin graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications and is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of Dayton.

Kristin is an experienced and compassionate leader who is excited to take her commitment to ACSM and ACSM members. “Dating back to my childhood, I have enjoyed a deep love and passion for athletics and sports. My experience as a collegiate level/Division I scholarship athlete helped me to understand the importance of not only health and fitness but also the importance of teams and collaboration. I am thrilled to be able to merge my personal and professional passions and serve the ACSM Board of Trustees, staff and membership.”

A passionate sister, daughter, aunt and friend, Kristin enjoys cycling, yoga, reading, travel and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Kristin is a member of ASAE, ISAE, Association Forum of Chicago and Elevate Network. Kristin has served in various volunteer leadership roles in her community and with several animal rescue organizations.
