No, candidates do not need to have CPR certification to participate in a workshop, Candidates MUST have CPR/AED certification (with hands-on practical) at the level required for the certification BEFORE taking any ACSM exam.

The six-week GEI webinar series is theory based with video demonstrations. Students attending the webinar series will gain a strong educational foundation preparing them for group exercise instruction.
The two-day GEI workshop is a hands on, practical based application of group exercise instruction. Students attending the workshop will gain hands on experience and feedback from industry leaders.
Students do not need to register for both the workshop and the webinar. However, individuals who have little or no experience in the field, or teaching group exercise will benefit from attending the webinar series and the two-day workshop.
